Welcome, welcome

Ok. So I have no idea what I'm doing. Flying by the seat of my pants.

It all started with Facebook. Updating with wild and quirky status updates. Someone says "Hey, you're funny. You should have a blog." So I listen. I don't think that this is my best idea ever but I'll give it a shot - although I don't think funny status updates on Facebook necessarily mean I'm qualified to be a successful blog writer.

Please stop reading here if you are expecting wild and quirky and exciting blog updates. I'm not consistently funny. Randomly funny perhaps, but I'm certainly no Ellen.

So here I am writing about my daily musings. Welcome to my blog, readers. We're in for an interesting ride.

First, a little about myself. I'm weird. Like not all creepy-keep-your-kids-inside kind of weird, but a bit unusual most definitely. I have a strange sense of humour. And by the way I spelled humour, you can guess that I am Canadian. Yes, the wonderful wintery wonderland of Canada. O'Canada. Home to Tim Horton's, Beavers, Mounties and all of the stereotypical imagery outlined in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games Closing Ceremonies. Yup, it must be all true - I saw it on TV - even though I've never once seen a real-live Mountie.

I'm a partner in a graphic design company, a photographer hobby'ist and a self-proclaimed miracle worker. Well, maybe not self-proclaimed. I DO pull off some pretty amazing timelines with work, which in my previous office granted me the title of KMW. Kristi Miracle Worker. It kinda stuck over the years so now I feel I have the right to use the name, and the power - but for good, not evil.

I have cats. Only two, not a house-full like you see on hoarders but two sometimes feels like a house-full. They are my magical fur babies. Until I have real kids, then they'll just be cats because I seriously don't want to be known as the mom that makes her kids call the cats "brothers and sisters". That's just weird (even though I might secretly think that...)

I am married. For 6 blissful months so far. We don't hate each other yet so that's good, right? Everyone keeps asking me how married life is. It's pretty much like "living together life". I mean, what is supposed to change? Guys think that I'm going to magically turn into this control-freak-monster now that K (my husband) has a ring on my finger. Girls think that K is going to turn into this beer-guzzling-out-with-the-boys-till-nagging-wife-calls-him-home-for-dinner type of guy. Neither is true. *Gasp* we're the same people we were before we were married. If anyone has any input on how things will change as the years pass (meaning: what joys I can look forward to), I'd love to hear about it!

That's me in a nutshell. Just a 30-something trying to dig out my own niche in the world, one Kristi Miracle at a time. Enjoy.
