Getting used to the new lack of hair to process each morning.
I'd almost forgotten what it was like to have short hair. I said to myself (and I knew it was me because I recognized the voice) "I'll absolutely LOVE having short hair - I'll have so much more time in the morning to do all the important things, like eat croissants and make lattes at home!" Until I use WAY too much shampoo in the shower and now spend that "extra time" I thought I'd gained each morning rinsing out ridiculously huge amounts of suds and foam from my scalp.
Taking a road trip tomorrow to visit some relatives out of town. Like "in-the-middle-of-nowhere" out of town. Like drive-for-3-hours-until-you-don't-see-another-living-person-and-then-drive-a-little-further out of town. I'll let you know how that plays out. I'm letting K drive because, being a boy, he has to drive and not be a passenger on a long trip. He says it's the law. We're taking my folks with us, mom being sick with some nasty phlegm'ish sort of plague. Is it offensive if I ask her to wear a mask? The day before Mother's Day? Mom I love you but I don't love your phlegm. Please wear this. Pretend you're Michael Jackson. All the cool kids are doing it... but mom as never been one to cave to peer pressure. *dammit*
